The first promotion of foster care "Every child needs a family"

The Center for Social Work in Rožaje held the first promotion of foster care under the name "Every child needs a family" in the Hall of the Cultural Center tonight.

The campaign is implemented within the project "Reform of the social and child protection system: improvement of social inclusion" implemented by the Government of Montenegro, with technical assistance from UNICEF and UNDP and financial support from the European Union.

The goal of the campaign is to increase the number of foster parents in Montenegro, reduce the number of children in institutions and raise awareness of the basic human need and the right of every child to grow up in a warm family environment.

The campaign was led by officers of the JU Center for Social Work for the municipality of Rožaje, Zineta Sutović, Faruk Dacić and Armin Dedeić.

They introduced those present to the importance of foster care, explained who can be a foster carer, what their responsibilities are and how to become a foster carer.

We invite citizens to learn more about foster care, to apply and become foster parents, so that every child can grow up in a family, feel the love and warmth of a family home.

You can get more information on how to become a foster parent at the Center for Social Work, and a guide for potential foster parents is available at www.mrs.gov.me/ministarstvo
