THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROŽAJE HELPS THE RENOVATION OF THE "RUZICA" CHURCH

The President of Rožaje Municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, received representatives of the Church Community in Rožaje and the Parish Priest of the Orthodox Church "Ružica", Mr. Slobodan Radojević.

The meeting primarily discussed the renovation of the church itself, which, due to the influence of the weather, began to deteriorate, especially the roof part (dome).
Parish priest Radojević initiated the reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign, the estimated value of which is 32,000 euros, and 6,000 euros have already been collected from voluntary donations.
The municipal budget for 2017 provides 6,000 euros for the needs of the Serbian Orthodox parish in Rožaje. Although the local administration has certain problems of a financial nature, we will try to provide additional funds in order to realize the reconstruction of the church roof, said the president of the municipality, Ejup Nurković. He invited all businessmen and citizens of Rožaj to participate in the campaign to collect funds, in order to help the reconstruction of the building. The President further emphasizes that Rožaje is an example of living together and respecting each other and that this relationship has been built for centuries on healthy and honest relations even in the most difficult times, and that by participating in this action, we all together testify that differences make a whole and that only with mutual respect can we create a better future and a more beautiful life.
Parish priest Radojević said that work is currently underway on the decoration of the church yard, and the reconstruction of the facade is planned for next month. The donor of this project is the "Ostrog" monastery, headed by Metropolitan Amfilohi.
Good people come to meet, so the company of Rahman Osmanović from Petnjica did the work on the land around the church for free, a chandelier was also installed in the church, which was donated by the company "Svjetlo servis" from Ukraine. The construction of the library is underway, for which 600 books have been collected so far.
