"Ibiš Kujević" ethno culture open days in Rožaje

"Ibiš Kujević" Ethno Culture Days are open tonight in Rožaje. The goal of this cultural manifestation, which is being held for the first time this year, is to preserve from oblivion the name of Ibiš Kujević, ethnologist, folklorist and founder of the Cultural Art Society "Vrelo Ibra", through the promotion of cultural creativity.

The President of the Municipality of Rožaje, Rahman Husović, as the host, welcomed the attendees and pointed out the importance of the newly established cultural event.

Tonight we open the "Ibiš Kujević" Days of Ethno Culture. We are extremely honored to have founded an event whose goal is to cherish the memory of a man who permanently enriched the cultural scene of Rožaj, Montenegro and the Balkans. It is a special pleasure that he starts from Rožaj, his hometown.

Ibiš Kujević dedicated his entire working life to the improvement and preservation of the cultural heritage of all the peoples of this region. He left behind a creativity that is priceless.

This obliges us, as his fellow citizens, to highlight his name with pride.

Rahmetli Ibiš represented Rožaje all over the world in the most beautiful possible expression. He was the best ambassador of his hometown and of Montenegro. Generations of young people have grown up under his mentorship, learning about folklore wealth.

Through his work, we can see how culture brings people together and how every difference is turned into an advantage.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that the Municipality of Rožaje will continue to support all those cultural projects that protect the cultural heritage and that say that culture is the foundation of the survival and development of every society.

In the course of decades of work, Ibiš Kujević made an immeasurable contribution to the preservation and development of the culture of the people of the former Yugoslavia, President Husović said.

The days of ethno culture "Ibiš Kujević" began with the promotion of the monograph "Half a century of KUD "Vrelo Ibra" which was discussed by prof. dr Rifat Škrijelj, prof. Dr. Tamara Karača Beljak, prof. MSc Sait Šabotić, prof. Dr. Sait Kačapor (via video).

The event is organized by the Bosniak Council in Montenegro in cooperation with the Municipality of Rožaje, the Cultural and Artistic Association "Vrelo Ibra" and the Rožaje Center for Culture, with the media support of Rožaje Radio Television (RTR).

The event was attended by numerous prominent figures of social and political life.
