Members of the opposition boycotted the twenty-fourth session of the local parliament

The twenty-fourth regular session of the local parliament, which was scheduled for today, was not held because a quorum for decision-making was not provided.

The President of the Municipal Assembly, Husein Kurtagić, stated that the representatives of the opposition did not announce their absence from today's session, and that there was no talk of giving up the decisions that were foreseen in the Agenda at the sessions of the Collegium. He assessed that the representatives of political subjects from the ranks of the opposition, instead of paralyzing the work of the parliament, should approach their political obligations responsibly and express their objections to the work of the local administration publicly, at the sessions of the Assembly. Kurtagić believes that the opposition is harming its own political reputation in this way and that the functioning of the municipality will not be questioned.

The president of the Rožaj parliament, regardless of the current views of the councilors of the opposition parties, believes in achieving political dialogue, which, he claims, is in the interest of all citizens and calls for joint decision-making already at the next session, which will be scheduled soon.

The agenda of the session scheduled for today included a discussion on 16 items, among which was the proposal for the Decision on the Municipal Budget for 2018, which was not adopted within the legally stipulated period.
