Elected new presidents in 13 local communities on the territory of the municipality of Rožaje

Elections for members of the Council of Local Communities were held in 24 of the 27 local communities in the territory of the municipality of Rožaje, in the period from October 27 to November 31, 2018. At the Council's request, elections in the local communities of "Radetina" and "Bać" will be held during the current month, and in Bijela Crkva, Bogaja and Gornja Lovnica, the mandate of Council members is ongoing.
Emir Kuč, from the Secretariat for Local Communities of the Municipality of Rožaje, says that the elections for council members, who immediately elected presidents at the constitutive sessions, took place in a fair atmosphere. He also said that a Working Group was formed to monitor elections in local communities with the task of providing professional, administrative and technical assistance for the needs of citizens' assemblies and local community councils regarding the legality of conducting elections. The working group attended all citizens' assemblies and actively participated in their work, from the aspect of its competence.
The Secretariat for Local Communities provided us with a list of the newly elected presidents of 13 local communities:

7. MZ "Donja Lovnica" - Džafer Murić
8. MZ "Sređani" - Sead Kurpejović
9. MZ "Seošnica" - Edin Nurković
10. MZ "Ćosovica" - Emir Kalender
11. MZ "Besnik" - Elvis Murić
12. MZ "Klanac" - Dževad Murić
13. MZ "Grahovo" - Senad Murić
In nine local communities, which are included in the election process, old candidates were re-elected.
The work of all election management bodies was public, notes the Secretariat for Local Communities. "Publicity was ensured during the entire election process by informing citizens through the electronic information portals of the Municipality of Rožaje, RTV Rožaje and by highlighting notices in visible places such as public facilities and in other suitable ways", it is stated in the part of the Report on the conducted elections for members of the council of local communities in the territory of the municipality of Rožaje.
The decision on local communities stipulates that elections for local community bodies are announced every fourth year. Previous elections for the selection of bodies in local communities, in the territory of the municipality of Rožaje, were held after the local elections in 2014.
