The president of the municipality was on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey
At the invitation of the mayor of the sister city of Kirklareli, Mehmet Siyam Keshimoglu, the president of the Municipality of Rožaje, Rahman Husović, was on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey with his colleagues.
President Husović was accompanied by the director of DOO "Vodvod i Kanalizacija" Rožaje Senad Mujević, the secretary of the Secretariat for Finance and Economic Development Ismet Hadžić and the head of the Cabinet of the President of the Municipality, Emir Kuč.
During the first day of the visit, in Istanbul, a meeting was held with Dr. Šafak Baša, Deputy Director General for Water and Wastewater of Istanbul "ISKI".
President Husović emphasized the good and friendly relations that our municipality and state have with Turkey.
During the conversation, the local self-government delegation presented the resources and potential that Rožaje has at its disposal, as well as the challenges and activities that are carried out in the field of improving the water supply system and waste water management.
Dr. Šafak Baša expressed his satisfaction with the meeting. He pointed out that he has special emotions and sympathies for Montenegro.
In order to provide support to our municipality, a cooperation protocol will be signed in November between ISKI and DOO "Vodovod i kanalizacija" Rožaje - which will make Rožaje the first municipality in Montenegro to have formal cooperation with the state-owned Turkish company that has similar cooperation with another 70 countries. the cooperation protocol will be the starting point for providing technical and material assistance to Rožaj.
It is one of the largest companies in Istanbul, serving over 15 million people with an annual budget of around one billion dollars.
The meeting was also attended by the Consul General at the Consulate General of Montenegro in the Republic of Turkey, Branislav Karadzic, and the Vice President of the Council for Cooperation with the Diaspora Bedri Gul Muković.
As part of the working meeting, a study tour of the ISKI company was organized, during which examples of good practice in the water supply system were presented.
On the second day of the visit, members of the Rožaj delegation were guests at the opening of the 29th International Festival of Culture in Kirklarelilj. Emphasizing the satisfaction of meeting with the leadership of the twin city, the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of economy and culture was emphasized.
During his visit to the Republic of Turkey, President Husović met with the president and vice president of the Turkiye Bosna Sandžak Association - Muhamed Sancaktar and Hilmi Erdem, and members of that association.
During the friendly meeting, the activities and results of the Turkiye Bosna Sandžak Association, which has a tradition of working in the field of education, humanitarian work and culture, were presented. The interlocutors jointly concluded that there is an open space for cooperation in many social spheres that connect the municipality of Rozaj with that association.
