4.1 million euros available to agricultural producers

Tomorrow at 14:00 in the Great Hall of the House of Culture in Rožaje, an Info-campaign will be held to familiarize agricultural producers with the conditions and criteria for applying.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced a public call for grant of non-reimbursable support for investments in agricultural holdings through the IPARD-like project, in which 4.1 million euros will be available to agricultural producers.

The IPARD like project is financed by the European Union, and will be implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MPRR) in cooperation with the World Bank.

The goal of the IPARD like project is to strengthen Montenegrin agriculture and reach the necessary standards, especially in the part of preparing Montenegro for the use of IPARD funds, planned for 2016.

Support of this type aims to prepare the Montenegrin agricultural sector as well as institutions for future membership in the EU through the modernization of production and the strengthening of production competitiveness, as well as reaching community (EU) standards in the field of: increasing product quality; hygiene and food safety; improving the competitiveness of family farms; the introduction of new technologies and innovations and the opening of new market opportunities; product quality improvements while meeting EU standards in the field of food safety and environmental protection; preserving the production of traditional products; connecting the agriculture sector and the tourism sector; enriching the tourist offer with specific and rare products of high quality.

All detailed information on procurement procedures, acceptance criteria, required documentation are harmonized with the European Union and the World Bank, and are found in the Operational Manual for IPRAD-like, which you can download at the end of this notice.

The projection is that 50 percent of the funds will be directed to livestock production, 40 percent to plant production and beekeeping, and 10 percent to investments in aquaculture. The minimum amount of investment is 10,000 euros, and the maximum is 100,000 euros.

Requests for project approval will be received from December 29, 2014 to February 28, 2015, and the representatives of the Ministry have already started the Info campaign to acquaint agricultural producers with the conditions and criteria for applying.

The Ministry of Agriculture invites all agricultural producers to attend info-workshops, regardless of whether they intend to apply, because the information they will receive will be useful for all subsequent calls for support.
