Award "30. September" presented to Abdullah Eren, director of YTB

President of the Municipality Rahman Husovic yesterday he received in his office the director of the Government Administration for Diaspora, related peoples and foreign students of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Eren, the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Songül Ozan and TIKA coordinator for Montenegro Abdurrahman Toprak. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Rožaje Municipality Assembly Almir Avdic, head of the Islamic community in Montenegro Rifat ef. Fejzic, president of the Jury to award the "September 30" award for 2020 Mubera Fetahović and head of the President's Cabinet Emir Kuch.

The main reason for the gathering was the presentation of the award "30. September" which the Municipality of Rožaje, during the celebration of the Municipal Day, awarded to the Government Administration for Diaspora, related peoples and foreign students, for a special contribution to Rožaje and Montenegro in the field of education.

President Husović extended a warm welcome to those present and pointed to the traditional connection between the citizens of Rožaj and Turkey.

"The fact that you are with us for the second time since the beginning of the covid crisis is another proof that Rožaje has strong friendship, cultural, kinship and other ties with Turkey", Husović said when addressing the audience.

He paid special attention to the efforts of Turkish institutions and organizations in the field of improving the living standards of people living in Montenegro. "The humanitarian activities that come from Turkey are really of inestimable importance for our country and Rožaje. The Government Administration for Diaspora, related peoples and foreign students certainly makes a huge contribution here. Thanks to your support, our students get quality education in Turkey and become successful young people. Currently, there are 67 graduates of Turkish universities in Rožaje, and a total of 200 in Montenegro. In addition to education, this program further improved the cooperation between the two countries and strengthened our friendly and cultural ties.", he said Husovic.

The first man of the Rožaj municipality also praised the activities that TIKA implements in Montenegro and praised their perseverance in the direction of the implementation of numerous projects that improved the quality of life of citizens.

Director of YTB Abdullah Eren thanked for the hospitality and reminded that the Municipality of Rožaje is a sister municipality with the Turkish municipality of Kutahiya, which is located near Ankara. In the further conversation, he emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and wished that in the future Rožaje would form fraternal ties with a million-strong city of the Republic of Turkey, from which it would have numerous socio-economic benefits.

Eren added that Turkey has been with the people of Montenegro and Bosniaks since its independence. He referred to the importance of the YTB organization, which has 5 million related communities in the world, including Rožaje. He emphasized that their activities are primarily related to education and culture and pointed out that in the coming period, the funding program will include an even larger number of students from Rožaj.

President of the jury Mubera Fetahović she spoke about the importance of the municipal award "30. September" and invited the President of the Municipality to present the highest local award to Director Abdullah Eren.

After the meeting, the Turkish delegation and representatives of the local self-government of Rozaj visited the cultural sights of Rozaj.
