FORUM FOR ESTABLISHING PROJECT CROSS-BORDER PARTNERSHIPS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro and the Office for European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Serbia-Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Program, organize Forum for establishment of cross-border project partnerships within this Program.

Forum will be held at the hotel "Aldi" in Rožaje, 26.06.2013. year, with the beginning at 11 a.m.

More than 100 participants, namely representatives of municipalities, public companies, organizations for regional development, cultural and educational institutions, sports associations, NGOs and tourist organizations from both countries, have registered to participate in the Forum.

In the opening remarks, the President of the municipality of Rožaje, Mr Nusret Kalac, representative of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro in charge of the Serbia-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program, Mrs Jadranka Milić, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Ms Amela Kovačević, as well as the representative of the Office for European Integration of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Darko Čukuranović. After the introductory speeches, the Serbia-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program will be presented to those present.

The goal of the Forum is to facilitate the meeting of potential partners and the exchange of project ideas before the publication of the third call for project proposals under this Program. It is planned that the third call for project proposals for the Serbia-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program, within which approximately EUR 2.2 million will be available, will be published in the second half of the current year.

This means that potential applicants, who have the right to participate in this Program, will soon be given the opportunity to apply for grants for projects that will be implemented in the program area and in which at least one partner from both sides of the border will be involved.

The Serbia-Montenegro cross-border cooperation program is financed from the funds of the European Union within the second component of the Instrument for pre-accession support - Cross-border cooperation. As candidate countries for EU membership, Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia were in 2007, a cross-border cooperation program was jointly drawn up for the period from 2007 to 2013, on the basis of which the EU allocated funds for the border areas between the two countries. .
