FORMED COUNCIL FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND SAFETY OF TRAFFIC

The President of the Municipality, Mr. Ejup Nurković, initiated a meeting with the employees of the Local Administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where they discussed improving the safety and quality of traffic in Rožaje.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Municipality Ejup Nurković, Vice President Mirsad Azemović, Chief Administrator Redžep Kurbardović, Secretary of the Secretariat for Traffic, Road Infrastructure and Housing Affairs, Secretary of the Secretariat for Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection Ešef Husić, Chief of the Communal Police Demir Nurković, Traffic Inspector Mujo Nurković, Chief of Cabinet Ismet Kalač, Adviser for Legal Affairs Amer Dacić, Head of OB Rožaje Sadik Šabanović, Assistant Commander for Traffic Safety, Public Order and Peace and Duty Service Jasmin Kurpejović.

President of the Municipality Mr. Ejup Nurković, as the initiator of this meeting, in his introductory presentation referred to the evident problems when it comes to parking spaces in the inner city and that it is urgently necessary to adequately mark all parking spaces in the city and register them and legalize them, as well as to communicate police and inspectors need to be more up-to-date in their work at a moment's notice.

Secretary of the Secretariat for Transport, Road Infrastructure and Housing Demir Kalač. Among other things, he drew attention to illegal parking next to the Mustafa Pećanin school, where traffic regulations are constantly violated and traffic is endangered. In addition, he pointed out the necessity of installing bollards in all places where parking is prohibited according to expressly highlighted traffic regulations. Kalac also drew attention to the frequent violation of the law when it comes to freight traffic, where freight vehicles enter the city center and thus create a very big problem in the flow of traffic.

The Secretary of the Secretariat for Planning, Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, Ešef Husić, pointed out that the problem is also the increasing number of motor vehicles, which is increasing day by day. In addition, Husić emphasized that there used to be a "Traffic Safety Council" that greatly contributed to solving the problems that existed even then. In addition, there is only one registered parking space in Rožaje, and all others operate illegally. It is necessary to register them and request that the parking spaces on them be adequately marked, as well as that the working hours and the price of parking be transparently highlighted.

Police Commander Mr. Sadik Šabanović said that the problem is evident but not alarming. There are also a lot of unjustified traffic jams and the traffic infrastructure is also a big problem. It is necessary to influence preventively, through the media and various other transparent ways, including by making flyers. Šabanović also agreed with the proposal to form a council to monitor traffic safety.

At the meeting, the measures and conclusions that should be taken in the following period were agreed upon in order to solve the mentioned problems to some extent, and the council A for the improvement of traffic safety was formed with the following composition:

1. Mirsad Azemović (president)
2. Demir Kalač (member)
3. Demir Nurković (member)
4. Mersudin Sinanović (member)
5. Muhamed Dacić (member)

And two members from among NGOs who will be appointed later.

The president of the council is obliged to submit a report every month and inform the president of the Municipality about the work activities of both the council and the competent services and the secretariat in charge of maintenance and coordination of both traffic and utility inspections, which will strengthen their activities in the field.

They will act quickly and efficiently in order to have positive results as soon as possible in terms of cleaner public areas, freed sidewalks for the unhindered movement of pedestrians and better order in traffic.
