The International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated in Ro\u017eaje<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities - December 3 - was celebrated in Ro\u017eaje with special gatherings. On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the President of the Municipality Ejup Nurkovi\u0107 with associates and representatives of public institutions - Center for Social Work, Employment Office, OB, Ro\u017eaja, Institute for Health and others, visited the Association of Paraplegics and the NGO "Let's make life easier for children" with special needs".<\/p>\n

President Nurkovi\u0107 presented the Association of Paraplegics with a special vehicle for people with disabilities, a donation from the local government, which will greatly facilitate the activities of this association. The vehicle has a special ramp with which a person in a wheelchair can easily enter without putting down the wheelchair and fasten the seat belt and travel safely. Guests from Turkey, the secretary of the Rumeli business association, Mr. Husein Ozkan, and the owner of one of the largest furniture manufacturing companies, Mr. Fatih Sultansu, were also present at the celebration of the Day of Persons with Disabilities.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, he said that the local government is committed to providing assistance to people with disabilities in various ways and to creating conditions for a better quality of life for this population, reminding that recently a person with a disability was employed in the local government and that the municipal budget finances several experts who help in working with people with disabilities and assessed that the donated vehicle will enable them to realize their activities and needs more easily.<\/p>\n

The president of the Association of Paraplegics, Jasmin Ja\u0161ko Noki\u0107, thanked for the valuable donation and everything that the local administration and other institutions in this municipality are doing to make life easier for people with disabilities, reminded of the fact that 1,877 people with disabilities are registered in the municipality of Ro\u017eaj, which makes it the third, after Podgorica and Nik\u0161i\u0107 in Montenegro. He said that around the world, people with disabilities face numerous barriers, with unequal opportunities in terms of education, employment, health and social protection, and expressed satisfaction with the attitude of the local government towards this population, which is taking certain steps to solve the difficulties they face. .<\/p>\n

During a visit to the NGO "Let's make life easier for children with special needs", President Nurkovi\u0107 praised their work and reminded that children with developmental disabilities will soon have better conditions for living and treatment because the Day Center is being built in this municipality. He expressed the expectation that the facility will be completed during the next year, which will give this population good conditions for stay and treatment at the expense of the State and the Municipality. Also, as he said, the new legal solutions, which from the beginning of next year will significantly increase compensations for families with children with developmental disabilities, also represent a significant help to that population.<\/p>\n

The president of that NGO, Vezirka \u0106osovi\u0107, thanked the local administration, as well as other institutions and children for their continuous help to their association, which takes care of more than 70 children.<\/p>\n
